The Central African Egg-eating Snake (Dasypeltis fasciata) is known to imitate the pattern and coloration of some venomous vipers like Causus rhombeatus, Echis carinatus or Bitis caudalis (depending on the region). It can also nearly perfectly imitate the hissing of Causus rhombeatus by scraping its strongly keeled scales against each other, just like Echis carinatus does.
